Specifically, some buyers – particularly those of the fairer persuasion – thought the standard 328-horsepower V6 in the G Sedan was just too much. Scary, even. So... no sale. After hearing what its white-knuckled customers wanted, the company decided to add a less powerful G Sedan to its U.S. lineup. Easy peasy.

The Ford Motor Company has been successful at a great many things, but building minivans hasn't been one of them. Perpetually mired in the shadow of offerings from Chrysler and Japan's automakers, the Blue Oval folded up its sliding-door tent and went home years ago, killing off its undersized Mercury Villager in 2002 and then extinguishing the Windstar-turned-Freestar (and its short-lived Mercury Monterey counterpart) in 2007. Brand supporters will doubtlessly note that the family-ferrying segment was in decline for some years before Dearborn walked away from it, but the truth is that Ford never managed to crack the market's top ranks despite more than 15 years of trying.

THE GYROBEE Craft

Introduction of THE GYROBEE Craft , Gyrobee features in so much of what I used to write for Rotorcraft magazine, it has become a rather well known aircraft. This has led to a lot of questions which I hope to answer here on the Gyrobee Page. Before I get to that however, there are a few important points which have to be made.Airframe Specifications

* Empty Weight: 250 pounds (Note 1)
* Useful Load: 250 pounds (Note 2)
* Blades: Rotordyne, 7 3/8 in. chord (Note 3)
* Rotor Diameter: 25 ft.
* Height: 8 ft. 0 in.
* Width: 7 ft. 8 in.
* Length: 12 ft. 0 in.
* Fuel Capacity: 5 gallons
* Engine: Rotax 447 (40 hp.)
* Gearbox: 2.58:1
* Prop: 60-38 2-blade wood (Note 4)

Note 1: weight includes the Rotordyne blades and an ultralight-style instrument pod but no brakes or prerotator. With equivalent Brock or Dragon Wings blades the airframe weight will be about 225-230 pounds, permitting the addition of a prerotator.

Note 2: Assumes a 35-pound fuel load and a 215 pound pilot. Greater pilot weights can be accommodated, as noted later.

Note 3: The aircraft has been flown and performs well on both Brock and Dragon Wings blades.

Note 4: The aircraft flies well on a two-blade, 60 inch IVO Prop set to 14 degrees pitch. This is a very smooth prop and more durable than the wood version, although we think the "woodie" may be just a bit better.

First, the Gyrobee is not a commercial product. There are kits and components on the market (Star Bee Gyros provides everything a Gyrobee builder might need), but I am not connected to the company and I am not selling plans. Since I'm not trying to sell you something, you might find it easier to believe what I have to say about the machine - that's up to you!Second, because aircraft like the Gyrobee are plans- or scratch-built projects (unless you buy a Starbee kit!), they will require a significant investment in time to build. These aren't weekend kits! If you aren't sure a scratch-built machine is what you want, you would be better off with a kit ultralight or Experimental machine.

Third, the Gyrobee was designed from the ground up as a no-compromise, Part 103-legal aircraft. The features incorporated into the Gyrobee assure that it has the characteristics you want from an ultralight - legality, ease of handling, and a decent level of performance. Design features to accomplish this often run counter to current design trends in Experimental machines. Ultralights (fixed-wing or gyro) that work well are not simply scaled-down Experimental models and different approaches are often required. You don't have to believe this, but don't say I didn't warn you! Every feature of the Gyrobee is there on the basis of careful ultralight design considerations, backed up by extensive flight testing.

BMW xDrive Offroad-Event in Rumania BMW X1 (E84) BMW X5 (E70) and BMW X6 (E71)

At regular intervals, BMW events according to the xDrive all-wheel drive system and make known the so-equipped vehicles. X3-Spy-12 - New Spyshots zeigen BMW X3 F25

Our reader and occasional writer Andreas Krieger had the good fortune this morning, a prototype in the Frankfurt area detection. X3-Spy-01

The impressions of Andreas' contact with the vehicle are as follows:

The roof line looks very sporty, almost coupé-like - no comparison to the current X3!
A trailing edge below the rear window emphasizes the sporty lines. The dynamically protruding shoulder line which circles the entire vehicle. It begins at the upper edge of the pig launcher and ends with the trailing edge of the rear window. This creates a sort of ring that visually convincing.
The contours of the headlamps are similar to the BMW 5 Series GT (F07) strong.
The steering wheel is almost identical to the 7 Series in BMW (F01) and BMW 5 Series (F10), the silver trim elements are available but need a little more apparent than in the other models mentioned.
The small fold (Ashtray / Zigarrettenanzünder) is in front of the shifter bent upwards (as in the 5-F10) and not straight as in F01 (7 Series) and F07 (5-GT)
The cockpit is driver-visible, far more than, say, the 7 Series.
The automatic transmission selector lever is the same as the BMW 7 Series and BMW 5 Series.
The kidneys are sitting conspicuously low, just as in the 5 Series. Below the kidneys there is another air opening such as the X5.
The rear looks very bullish. Overall, this X3 looks flatter than the current model, but also broader and more dynamic.
Not on the hood character lines are visible, but what we know, not necessarily for the production version must be true.
The hood rises sharply just before the windshield. If one viewed from the side, it looks as if the hood fuse with the glass.
The mirrors slowly reach the size of elephant ears, and are apparently increasing.
Looking at the prototypes from 20 to 30 feet away, you think more like the first generation of the BMW X5 (E53)) than the current BMW X3 (E83.

BMW X5 E70 Facelift / LCI

After the pictures and details of yesterday and the first video, there are now over a hundred more photos of the facelifted E70 generation BMW X5, which will be available starting in June at prices starting at 54,200 € with the distributors. In the pictures are, once again, the new BMW X5 xDrive50i and the new X5 also xDrive40d see that compared to their predecessors, now have more power and still have a reduced consumption.

The new images show us the night appearance of the revised X5, with its red LED light beam in the rear lights and the now-powered white LED daytime running rings at the front better than previous images. In addition to the exterior detail shots, there are more pictures of the interior, for example of the rear entertainment system for rear passengers.
